Ugh, What do i do? Im so confused...?

Question

We been talking for 3months now.

We really like eachother. But there is one big problem...

His girlfriend hes been with for a year...but they are now broken up.

He says they fight ALOT and there always on and off. This is their second time broken up SINCE we started talking. So i dont really believe him that hes ACTUALLY moving on from her this time.

I asked him if he thinks this is really his last time with her and he said he thinks so, but at the same time he doesnt know. He says if she wants him, she has to go to him. I asked what if she does, and he says he doubts it. Im just really scared. I been waiting for this moment. I been wanting him for a while now. I asked if its going to take him a while to get over her, and he says if hes with me he has no choice but too. He wasnt going to tell me they were broken up, he wanted to tell me in 2weeks cause he didnt know what was going to happen, He also said he was going to give her 2weeks to change. I think they been broken up for 2 or 3 days now.

*QUESTION... do you think hes really going to get over her?

How long is it going to take? can he REALLY move on from her?

i mean they have ALOT ALOT ALOT of memories together.

I also REALLY trust him. We talk about this, and he PROMISES me things. IDK what to do anymore :/

Do NOT be the rebound girl!

Date around but flirt with him shamelessly when nobody's around!

Let him date a little more, just to get over her.  Suggest that he dates.  Don't bound yourself to one guy who might not even like you.

The guy does not exactly sound head over heels for you. He's waiting around for his ex to come to him. Basically, you're second choice and he might even dump you for her at some point. This is not a good situation for you. You're at a huge disadvantage. And asking him repeatedly isn't going to change that.
