i have to write an essay on the following question:

choose a distinguished novel or play(in this case the picture of dorian gray) in which some of the most significant events are mental or psychological; for ex: awakenings, discoveries, changes in consciousness. Describe how the author ,manages to give these internal events the sense of excitement, suspense, and climax usually associated with external action. do not merely summarize the plot.

    How does the author construct the plot using thoughts instead of action? Is it just rambling or do the thoughts move the story forward?

  3. In Dorian Gray there really isn't much physical action in the climax.  However, Wilde uses the narration to create a feel of excitement during the climax.  What about how he reveals the information makes the reader want to find out what happens or leaves you with goosebumps?
