Ugh last name?

ok well my last name is first but my grandfather told me when his father came from germany to america whent hey were doing somthing like and the lady/man did understand and instead of zuerst he/she put first.so any i wanted to look up family records and the one site for geneology really didnt help me at all but i need a site where you have tracked records and it worked plz help thnx

The best site I can recommend for records such as this is www.ancestry.com.  You can pay monthly or see if they have a free 14 day trial.  Be flexable in your spelling.  You can use wildcards such as * instead of filling in the whole name. This has found me many relatives because the person taking the record doesn't understand what is being said.

I looked on Ancestry for Zuerst and there are a lot of Zrust from Germany which might be a variation of your last name.  There also a lot of First's.
