  1. Maybe she's too poor to eat other stuff.  Don't "confront" her...just ask her what made her eat the Beneful the other day.

It's not healthy because it doesn't have the amts. of nutrition that humans eat.

Lots of poor people eat cat & dog food to be able to afford their rent & medications. Shocking isn't it?

...or else she just wanted to get a reaction out of you.

    Good luck

  2. might be safe, but its gross...

  3. uuummm... eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww

  4. well i think u should confront her and tell her what u really think about what she did, dont be nervous!

  5. It's safe.

In fact, the pet food makers are so afraid of lawsuits that they take better care of making dog and cat food then people food.

"Fromms" cat/ dog food is also suitable for human consumption.

No you can't get salmonella from dried out dog food.

    It's been processed and safe.

  6. mmm...I agree that that is very odd, and socially unacceptable. I mean, how did she even figure out that she liked it? Even if someone did have a weird addiction to dog food, you'd think they would keep that hidden from other people. I don't think it would necessarily be unhealthy, but just kind of gross and odd. I don't know what I'd do if I were you!

  7. Most pet foods are better quality than people food - go check the list of ingredients on say chips or crackers or sugary cakes with artificial ingredients and chemicals, I get grossed out reading those.  You can eat raw eggs (caesar salad dressing, eggnog, swedish potato-beet salad is topped by one), and steak tartar is raw meat (and many people eat rare steaks).  Pet food is processed cooked food.  We have cats and I think their food reeks, but it's all healthy stuff in there, same with dog food.

So my question is, how much of this did she eat and why?  Maybe she has a strange craving because her diet is defficient in some way?  Maybe she did it to see your reaction?  Many people eat foods repugnant to others just because they like it.

I don't see a big deal about asking her if she did it and asking her why.  If she offers some to you, you can always politely decline and say you ate breakfast with your cat already this morning.  :-)
