Uhm, my washing machine...?

Ok, so I just came to visit my dad for the Summer, and I didn't know that the washing machine was broken. He's at work, and I put in a load of clothes. When it got done washing I went to open it and none of the water had drained. I called my dad and he just told me to wait until he gets home and he'll help. The load I washed was dark colors. If I let the clothes sit in the water filled washing machine for 4 more hours, will they fade? I have a few things in there that are brand new, and they're black. Will they fade? If yes, what should I do?

  1. Some things may fade... to be on the safe side i would take the items out of the washer, and put them in the bathtub so that you can wring them out (items put in the dryer TOO wet will damage it) after you wring out the clothes, if you have a clothes line I'd put stuff Like jeans etc on it for a while, lighter materials you can take a beach towel fold it in half, lay 1 garment on it at a time and roll it tightly, this will squeeze out most of the moisture, it means you have more to dry but if you are in a hurry to dry your clothes..... it is worth it

  2. They won't fade by soaking in water. Unless you put bleach in with them- then you're an idiot! LOL. Just leave them in the water, because pulling them out wet could just stretch the clothes.  Just let 'em soak and remind your dad to get that fixed!

  3. If there is soap still in the washer, yes they will fade. Since the washer did not drain i would have to assume that there still is soap in it. To be safe you should take them out and just throw it in a laundry basket or something since they will need to be re-washed.

  4. first off take the washing out the machine . and secondly leave it alone untill ur dad gets home do not drain the water

  5. What You Need To Do Is Get The Clothes Out Of The Washer And Wring Them Out.If your dryer is working and the clothes have to much water in them it will mess the dryer up.Try putting the washer on Spin Cycle and See If It Will Drain

  6. Our washing machine did that before, its just needs to be resetted so what I did was I turned the k**b to "wash or rinse" again so it started to operate again, you just have to do that afterwards, it will drain and "spin" again.  If you still would like to wait for your dad, what I would do is take out the delicate or black items, wring it out and just hang them dry.

Good luck to you and hope it works out! =)

  7. take the clothes out, take a small bucket and scoop out the water.

  8. They shouldn't fade just from sitting there, you'll be fine.

  9. i believe they should be fine but that has happened to me before and  i just put it on the spin cylce but id just wait for your dad
