  1. Well, I seeing as you're unprofessional I would sugest keeping it t dry -wash the gel out though and then dry it so that your hair is at its natural state.

If you think its more comfortable maybe play it out as if you're at a hair salon and wash/condition it and then cut. But layers are very tough to do yourself if you aren't trained....

    Good luck!

  2. I would start with damp, clean hair if you are going to cut it. I wouldn't suggest that you do it yourself, but if you do, just be careful!

  3. wash it out very good leave in some conditioner so that its even when u cut the layers

    good luck!!

  4. just brush it

  5. Yep yu need to wash yur hair and wet it den even yur hair out and cut the amount yu want

  6. Please dont cut your hair yourself go to a salon...

But if you must yes wash your hair first

  7. First of all I wouldn't cut my hair myself if I was you I would leave that to a professional. But if you insist on doing this yourself then I would def. wash my hair first and remember that when your hair dries it will look shorter than when wet.

  8. it depends because, your doing it yourself and if you wet it, you might cut it too short as when your hair dries it goes up so wont be aslong

  9. omg DO NOT cut your own hair omg. only do it if you have experience. i have a rlly bad feeling you'll regret it!

  10. First of all, if you can't even spell or phrase the question you really shouldn't be playing with scissors.

DO NOT cut your hair, it takes months to grow back and you obviously do not have the first clue how to even start.

There is a reason hairstylists train for a year and apprentice for 2. Not to mention ongoing training.

It usually costs MORE to fix home disasters than to just get it done at a salon in the first place.

  11. yeah wash your hair and brush through it. But if you don't know what your doing i would go to the salon.

  12. yes have it wet so that your hair is all the way down and you can see where its even and stuff. also cut upwards. it helps alot.

oh and the gel and all that stuff should come out when you wash it.

  13. Okay... just to be one the safe side, wash the stuff out and use a spray bottle or something to wet your hair.

  14. if you have to ask questions about cutting your hair you shouldnt cut it.

  15. DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN!!HOW ARE YOUGOING TO KNOW IF IT'S STRAIGHT IN THE BACK!

  16. Three things that should be avoided:

    Home made helicopters

    Free tatoos

    and

    do-it-yourself haircuts

All three usually turn out very badly...

  17. I tried cutting mine it didn't work so well. Its easier to wash, dry, then cut.

  18. First of all, I advise you not to cut your hair on your own. You have a different perspective when it's your own hair and it might not go as planned. Second of all, if you do cut your own hair then I suggest washing and wetting it first because it's easier to work with wet hair and you don't want any substance in your hair when you're cutting it.

  19. i would no cut my hair but go for it

  20. umm, if you ask me,

you really shouldn't do it yourself.

go to a professional, like a haaairdressseerrrr.

    :)

that way you'll have better results most likely, and no total hair malfunctionss!

    better safe then sorry.

but if you still insist on doing it yourself, atleast TALK to an expert on hair, like a hairdresser or someone, and ask them.

    Good luck...

*Ohh and common sense, you always are suppost to wet your hair a bit before you cut it, so it'll be more tame, flat and easy for you. Also when you wet your hair it makes it a tinyyy bittt longer which is good when cutting your hair because you won't cut it waaaay too short by accident*

  21. please dont cut ur hair urself.

i tried that once and it came out HORRIBLE, especially layers.

i tried making layers, and it came out looking like c**p..

BUT if u still will do it, yes, u should wet your hair

    good luck...

  22. 1st off I don't recommend cutting your own hair. It will never be precise and you won't be able to get the back well.

but, if you insist on cutting your own hair, yes, it does need to be wet. Get all the product out of it and take you time. ESPECIALLY with layers, if you don't know what angle to cut it at you can seriously mess it up completely. Make sure you comb it completely straight and away from your head. Over-direct it too. place your finger just a little bit higher than where you're supposed to cut it and no further.

  23. i would wash all the hairspray and gel out and make sure its wet when u cut it. but i think u should let a professional cut ur hair, it will probably turn out alot better. :]

  24. You need to wash it first! If not, those gels will make it hard to cut!

    Hope this helps!

  25. yeah, you need to wash it and have it wet. But don't do it yourself! Get a professional hairdresser to do it! No matter how good you think it will look, it will be bad. You can never get it just right, especially on the back.

  26. dry cutting hair especially when it is your own is extremely hard. so i would say wet it first. and most definitely wash that stuff out first.

  27. I cut my hair all the time. I leave it dry and then put it back in a pony tail and cut away.

  28. first comb it out then us e the spary then cut apply the gel if you want

  29. you should wash it and then pin up the parts u arent cutting and then cut by sections.
