Normally, railway workers aren't hired straight away, unless they've been in the industry.

This is becuase you need specialist training, so you have an apprentiship. These are on average £12.5K (starting) rising to about 18K in the last year, as you become experienced. In a couple of years, depending how good youm are, it could be 35k+
