How many planes do you think uses the UK Airspace?????

I know London Heathrow is the busiest Airport in the world but any ideas on how many planes/flights use the UK Airspace?

Do you mean in a day, or a year....having said that it is an almost impossible question to answer....I would say maybe a thousand or so a day....but I could be way out.

Heathrow is the busiest International airport in the world.

UK airspace is used by thousands of flights every day, almost all flights from Europe to Canada and the USA fly over the UK, anything from Scandinavia to the iberian peninsula also flies over us. Flights from New York to the middle east and Asia fly over the UK.

I would like to tell you that Heathrow is not the busiest in the world by either PAX or TRAFFIC movement. Atlanta has been for the last 8years.

National Air Traffic Control might have a figure for the aircraft they control (try their web site), but they will not count (a) military aircraft, unless they enter civilian-controlled airspace or (b) the large numbers of private flights that use small airstrips and uncontrolled airspace.
