If I hang out with my m8s I dont expect to be treated any differently to a group of 80 yr olds hangin 2gether.

Or (playing devils advocate) Is youth crime out of control?

  1. In the U.S. old people need to be locked up--especially septuagenarians and octogenarians. They all smoke incessantly, drive like maniacs and spit venomous jingo at passersby thus causing numerous accidents. They use their government stipends to gamble and purchase prostitutes and what is left over they deposit in the church offering plates every Sunday. Placing them in retirement homes is not enough. They are free to leave between the hours of 6am and 7pm (the only times they are awake) and this is unacceptable. They need to be fenced in, sequestered and there needs to be tighter control on their daily habits. Basically, the farther out of the way these seniors can be placed the better off the rest of society will be. Disenfranchisement and castration should be implemented and a firing squad should stand ready in every community across the country for the unruliest of them. The youth here in America are the least of our nation's worries. Old people are--and always have been--the bane of our great democracy.

  2. youth crime is getting out of control, its got to the situation where people are being killed over the sake as something as trivial as a thrown chocolate bar. But i do agree the media do give it mass coverage which does lead to an increase in hysteria on the subject

  3. No!!

  4. Youths of today have no respect or fear of the law, you may not be bad yourself but do you see 80yr old's drinking and causing mayhem to impress their mates, so no i think the media are not blowing it out of proportion infact its getting so bad in some areas that the government should allow police  to have more powers to stop crime with more intention to put them inside rather than handing out ASBOS which they consider a medal of honour.

  5. There's one thing that I have noticed in my village, the kids that are hanging out in gangs in the street have actually got fewer, so from that respect it is a little better now.

BUT, the few that remain seem to behave worse than ever. Pushing each other into the road, loud, Leary and aggressive, gobbing all over the pavement etc and consuming cheap cans of beer in the street. They don't bother me because they know that I'll just give them a good kicking,  to old people though they are quite menacing. .

  6. The reporting of youth crime today is /has become, a normal front page lead, in most cases, that is not, the media to blame, already  we have answers on this board that are accurately written, and there is no need for anyone to expand on those. This rise in youth crime and, we are now talking as young as =ten years old =will continue to rise until the law is strong enough, to fit the crime committed, there are many trains of thought on the responsibility of parents , yes I would agree with some of that thinking but, no parent can monitor their child every second, In my view it should be brought home to the offenders if, you commit the crime =you will= be punished, and make the punishment suitable, taking into account the age and the severity of the crime itself, one or two examples of punishment should be filmed, and shown around the schools forget human rights other wise these ten year old will go down the same route as the recent murderers let us give a clear and very strong message this, is what will happen to =you= if you commit crimes= harsh yes =but better than them eventually, being incarcerated for the rest of their lives for murder. is that not so?. =lets do it.=

  7. I think the youth of today, have it harder than in my younger days, there doesn't seem to be any future for a lot of them, it's harder to get uni education, harder to buy houses. the majority of youth are good people, they need a change in government. My you are pretty.

  8. definitely its very few young people that are involved in crime. from my experience of working with young people i feel that they are very talented individuals that get judged on appearance. on a daily basis i see young people doing positive things in their community its not fair to tar them with the same brush as those in the media.

i agree that crime amongst young people is terrifying but it is completely blown out of proportion. consider the fact that there is more danger inside the home from close members of family than there is on the street by strangers

  9. The youth of today will not give up a seat on the bus and show no respect to the elderly,in my days they would be flogged with the cat o nine tails, bring back the birch than order will be restored.

  10. Young people hanging out together is nothing new and there is certainly nothing wrong with it.  However, it is a sad fact that more and more youths are stabbing, shooting and murdering innocent people - we hear stories in the news every single day - don't forget for each high profile case there are hundreds of other incidents in towns all over the UK that go unreported but just as serious.  Feral children are on our streets and need to be put away.  The are vile and beyond help - I am sick to death of hearing about law abiding citizens being killed by little more than children.
