You sit on the floor for a two hour journey, with dozens of others because they don`t put enough carriages on the train, should train companies give you compensation?

  1. They should do, but the train companies are robbing B**tards. They charge far too much. Customers will never win. The only winners are the train company bosses, their families, their staff anf their staff's families!!

  2. the prices are really ridiculous. Cheap tickets are difficult to get hold off. use the coach. it is much cheaper. I got ticket london to glagow on megabus for £1 (unfortunately only one way, LOL).

  3. They should because it's not your fault they double booked it. Write a formal complaint letter because they will be reluctant to refund you. But don't let it slip past - what an uncomfortable journey! Persist and get your money back, if not for the money, do it for the concept. Maybe they'll learn  something about reducing their mistakes.

Tell them you ONLY chose that train because you knew you could book a seat - say if you had known you would have to sit on the floor for 2 hours you would not have paid the money.

    Good luck.

  4. Nope... if you read the terms and conditions of transit they don't guarantee you a seat... all they state is that they will transport you between point A and point B.  That's why the UK govenrment has no chance of getting me out of my car....

  5. Personally I would have found some staff on the train and had who ever was sat in my seat thrown out of it.

You should not put up with that rubbish. You wouldn't expect it at the theatre or cinema, why put up with it on a train

  6. try and get a refund on your ticket, write to bbc watchdog and they will gleefully do a piece on train companies. the company may well give you a book of vouchers to be used on their line - refuse this and ask for your money and tell them you've contacted 'watchdog'!!!
