Uk Visa & Work Permit?

hi im going to move to london next year

and im not really sure on this hole UK Visa work permit issue.

You need both dont you

a work permit

and a UK visa?

is that correct

it says

Work permit over 6 months.. does that mean its only a year or what? iv look everywhere it doesnt say.

How do people live in London for years and years if they r from Australia?

Some Australians have parents or grandparents who are from the UK, Ireland or another European country and qualify for a passport from that country which will allow them to remain indefinitely in the UK.  

Others take the two year visa & go home, those who outstay their visas keep their heads down & are very careful about how they leave the UK in order to avoid getting their passports examined.  

Speak to the British Embassy in Australia & ask them about visas.
