  1. No you can't, you can ride it if you pass a Restricted Access test taken on a 125cc Motorcycle the you are then restricted to a motorcycle producing no more than 33BHP for the first 2 years of the Licence. After which any Motorcycle may be ridden. This is not an engine size restriction but a brake horse power restriction.

If you take a Direct Access Course you can ride anything you like.

  2. no, because it's restricted to 33bhp.  After your CBT you are only legally allowed to ride a bike UP TO 125cc with a maximum output of 14.6 bhp

If you pass your test on a 125 then you get category A1 on your license and can ride our restricted bike then, but only then.

  3. YES U CAN...but you have to fit an extra wheel, not nessaseraly a side car but something called a sidewinder....link below,[scroll down]hard to come by these days.....you can even stick one on a R1,with L plates and ride legally...

it changes the class of the bike to a 3 wheeler trike....

  4. Basic Answer - NO

You can't ride any bike bigger than a 125cc on a CBT. To ride a bigger bike (like your doing) you have to complete a motorcycle theory test (go to www.dsa.gov.uk and book one) then go on and take either the A2 test (if 17yrs or over) or the DAS (if 21yrs or over).

I would do that now before you get caught and banned with a hefty fine and before the new test comes in October this year.

EDIT: Be aware, if you do take the test and want one before it all changes, get in fast as most schools are either fully booked or nearly full
