Do you know which field of voluntary work you'd like to do? Do you drive? If so, did you know that local hospitals in the UK take on voluntary drivers (they pay generous expenses) The work varies, one day you might be taking a severly ill aged person for palliative chemo, next day you could be taking someone into hospital at 5:30am for day surgery.....Or working in charity shops could be rewarding....Just think of what YOU can offer, and chase it up....Anyway, it's a noble thing to do, you're a good human being!!!
