  1. If you want to see incomes offered on IT jobs in Ukraine, may I suggest you check this website? The dollar amounts listed are for a Monthly salary, not weekly.

  2. Depends on where in Ukraine.

In Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, or Lugansk, IT will pay between $300-500 USD per month. Sometimes a bit more, if you can get hired by a foreign company doing business there.

Housing in those cities is expensive. Expect $200-500 for a 1 room apartment, not in the center of the city.

Utilities are cheap. Phone, high speed internet, plus cable TV will run about $17/mo (again, depending on where you are). Electric is relatively cheap, at about $12-40/mo.

Food is on par with US prices. Meat is very expensive, "normal products" are a bit cheaper, bread is inexpensive.

Travel is cheap in Ukraine. The bus will cost about $0.25 USD, the metro (subway) is $0.10 USD. Trains are relatively cheap if you travel coach. A private car from one end of Ukraine to the other will run about $90 USD. I usually travel by "Express Train" at $14 when going long distances.

Overall, you can live there well on an IT salary, compared to the rest of the "Westernized World". But your living will be difficult (and you won't get a job) if you can't speak fluent Russian or Ukrainian.
