Ulcer on on cat tounge

Question

Hi my cat drooling a little from the mouth this happen before and the vet gave him a course of meds that got rid of it but looks like its come back again.

Any can give me any info please

You need to go to the chemist and purchase the benjela gel. This you need to put in the water and stir. Your cat wont know any differnence and this will cure in around 7 days...

Ulcers on the tongue can have various causes such as calicivirus (cat flu) or dental problems.  I think it's best if you take your cat back to the vet for a professional diagnosis and treatment.  Mouth ulcers are very painful and may put your cat off eating, so he really does need to be seen a.s.a.p.

I can tell you that the two most common problems that have symptoms in which you describe are an eosinophilic granuloma often found in the mouth (they are called rodent ulcers when they are found on the lips) or a type of tumor called a squamous cell carcinoma. It is virtually impossible to tell them apart without performing a biopsy. I would recommend having a biopsy performed as soon as possible. The eosinophilic granuloma can generally be managed with medications, however the carcinoma is generally associated with a grave prognosis. It is not a surprise that your cat seems better with medication because both conditions are associated with infection and inflammation, so a temporary improvement would be expected with either problem.
