The Bayern Munich President reckons that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 has been under pressure after being heavily criticized for being ‘selfish’ at times.
Uli Hoeness feels the recent media reports have affected his team’s game badly which was noticeable in the match against Schalke at the weekend. Bayern, though, emerged as 2-0 winners courtesy Franck Ribery’s brace.
Hoeness, however, is of the opinion that there could have been more goals if the team had not been under immense amount of pressure.
Robben has been widely criticized in the media for his selfish game play which has prompted the Dutchman to change his style. The Dutchman has looked out of touch in his recent games and the player has not been as sharp as he has
been all season.
Hoeness admitted that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 winger needs one game to get back his confidence and is confident that the player will be a vital part of the club in the remaining course of the season.
While talking to sports website, Bild.com, the 60-year-old further added:
"If we had not had that in recent weeks, Robben certainly could have scored two or three goals. This s***-talk of whether he is an individualist has caused him to now pass the ball, even if he could go on his own. You can influence
a football match from outside."
Robben has been struggling since his return from injury and has lost his place in the starting XI to Thomas Muller which has frustrated the player in the last few weeks. However, he was handed a start against the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues on
Sunday, February 26, but looked out of sorts in the first 45 minutes.
The winger showed glimpses of brilliance in the second-half and could have been amongst the goals had he concentrated on scoring rather passing around. As a result, Robben failed to add to his season’s tally of five goals as Bayern
went on to win the game and go second in the league standings.
Bayern will next be in action against Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on Saturday, March 03, in their bid to close the gap on the Borussians.
