The Bayern Munich President has expressed his desire to complete a double this season by winning both the DFB Pokal and the UEFA Champions League.
Bayern Munich president, Uli Hoeness, has revealed his desire to complete a double this season ahead of the DFB Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund. The two teams will meet this month on May 12. The Borussians have already won
this season’s Bundesliga and are also on course to secure a double by winning the German Cup too.
Hoeness urged his side not to undermine the value of the German Cup as it is as important for the club as is the Champions League. He pushed his players into giving their best against Dortmund and also advised Jupp Heynckes to
play his full strength side irrespective of the Champions League final a week later.
The President also stressed at the importance of breaking the jinx against Jurgen Klopp’s side against whom Bayern have been winless for the past four games. He stated that it is the best time for the Munich giants to get better
of Dortmund who recently successfully defended their Bundesliga crown.
While speaking to TZ, Hoeness further added: "The game against Dortmund is just as important as the Champions League final. We want to end what has so far been a good season with some titles. And the DFB-Pokal is a title. In addition,
we have to consider that we're trying to stop Dortmund. We've lost four times - there is some unfinished business.”
The 60-year-old further insisted on defeating Dortmund which is as important as winning the title. He enthused that the Reds must seize upon this opportunity and try finishing the unfinished business this season rather waiting
for the next campaign to start.
"Next season has nothing to do with it. Next season, everything will start from scratch again," the President concluded.
Bayern finished this season second in the league standings with 73 points, eight short of the Signal Iduna Park outfit, who finished with record number of 81 points. The Bavarian giants will then host http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the final of the
