Ulis De Vassy set to shine in EPS Handicap Hurdle
A close competition is on the cards in the EPS Handicap Hurdle at Ffos Las in England on Monday, December 17, 2012. All of the participants have been struggling for consistency, which will make things quite uncertain in the class-3 contest.
The spectators will not mind such a situation, but it will be hard for the punters to decide their favourite runner. They do have a couple of good options, but will not be looking to risk a lot of money.
A total of seven stallions have been attracted toward the race, which is scheduled to kick off at 15:15 GMT. They will have to push extremely hard in order to cover an overall distance of 2 miles over hurdles.
Moreover, things will not be easy for them, as the going has become heavy because of the overnight rain. The organisers will be hoping that the situation improves to some extent before the start of action.
If that does not happen, some of the contestants might sit out of the competition, which has a cash prize of £4,549 for the winner.
However, Ulis De Vassy will not be troubled by these conditions and he will be looking forward to the start. He likes running on a rain affected ground, thus he has a solid chance of dominating the proceedings from the start until the end.
Therefore, the bookmakers have given him high odds for a victory, as they expect him to finish at the top of the table in a convincing manner. There will be immense pressure on him though, but he has the ability to cope up with it.
His trainer, Nick Williams, will be hoping for a positive result today, but he will be fully aware that things will not be easy for the young challenger.
Ulis De Vassy has participated in six hurdles until now, winning one of them whereas finished as a runner up on the same number of times. His better performances came on rain affected grounds, so he will be confident of a strong run today.
Daryl Jacob will be the one partnering him at Ffos Las. The pair came together recently and pulled off a decent result. They will be expecting to do the same this time around as well.
