  1. It really is a weak division but Mir still desn't deserve a title shot. I'm surprised Andrei Arlovski walked when he should be in line to fight Nogueira.

Both will be good coachs but I think Nogueira will beat Mir easily when they fight.

  2. big nog will be twice the coach that mir is.

i agree with the guy above mir dosent deserve a title shot

it a pity they couldent get randy to coach and fight nog or even fedor but the fact of the matter is mir is not in the same class or never has been anywhere near as good as these three fighters.

    TO THE PUNKS BELOW ME

frank mir has never beat any one that is any good(apart from tim sylvia). hes lost to marcio cruz, ian freeman and brandon vera. who dont get me wrong are good fighters but not great.

    nog however has beaten:

    heath herring 3 times

    fabrico werdum

    dan henderson

    cro cop

    mark coleman

    ricco rodriguez

    jeremy horn

    tim sylvia

and had 3 very close fights with arguably the best fighter alive today FEDOR EMILENCO.

for dana to put these fighters together is ridicoulous.

andrei arlovski however has beaten the like of ian freman and marcio cruz and also holds big wins over werdum and matyusushenko(the first to knock him out). so i think he would have been a better fight for nog. he would also have been in there with better guys so he would be a better coach.

DONT TELL ME IM NEW TO MMA.

  3. d**n, i respect nogueira and all...

but dissing frank mir? cmon...the dude had the title stripped cause he got mangled in a motorcycle accident...

im probably biased cause mir is one of if not my favorite fighter (see a favorite fighter question i answered), but the dude is real, hes not a scrub, hes not a poster boy that gets unfair advantages, hes a good fighter who won the belt before and is just getting back into his potential...

Do i believe Mir is at a disadvantage? Yes

Do I think the heavyweight division is weak? Yes

but I dont take anything away from Mir, he puts on good fights and i believe will put up the best fight out of any heavyweight against Nogueira...unless someone knows who else would?

  4. OK. For the people new to MMA... first off Mir does deserve a title shot. He was the UFC HW Champion at one time! He broke Tim Sylvia's arm to win the belt. No one took the title from him... he lost it to not being able to fight after his motorcycle accident. Yes the division is thin. Mir has more of a name with those new to MMA because he beat a high profile fighter. Just like all those idiots who think Kimbo is in the top 10 of the HWD... makes me laugh... since he isn't in the top 25. Anyways... Mir and Nog are great submission specialist. Nog is not know for it but has great boxing skills. Mir's wrestling is a little better. It will be a great fight... but I think it will take place on the ground and you will see a great BJJ match-up. Since the show is going to have 8 lightweights and 8 light heavyweights; I think both coaches are going to be a great coach. Personally I would want to be on Nog's Team... he won his first belt around the time that Mir started MMA. Nog has only lost four times... twice to Fedor, once to Barnett, once to Dan Henderson... he did avenge against Barnett and Henderson. He has much more experience in the ring... plus he has never been KO'd. Either would be great to learn from... but Nog has the experience.

  5. I like Frank Mir for this one. I think he will be able to connect with his fighters better than Noguiera. that kind of personal connection will go along way.

  6. Chuck Norris lol, I'd like to see Anderson Silva and Michael Bisping be the coaches, even thought Silva doesnt really speak english lol.

  7. i'm not sure, its just annoying to me that Frank mir wins one fight against a guy who has fought one time and he gets a title shot, is the heavyweight division that weak that he gets the next title shot? They better start getting some more heavyweights worth watching.
