Ultimate Warrior turns down Hall of Fame invite – Wrestling news
‘Ultimate Warrior,’ James Brian Hellwig, recently informed his fans through his Twitter account that he had turned down Vince McMahon’s invitation to Hall of Fame.
The man who defeated The Honky Tonk Man in 13 seconds claims that he does not intend to be associated with the WWE anymore.
After his tweet, many fans were intrigued about the news. One fan said that Warrior never got the respect he deserved from his folks at WWE, WWF back then. His exact words were, “One peer's respect decides all - VKM. And I said no.”
Another fan, refuting the idea that Warrior deserved respect more than others, said that there were stars who had given much more and so they got the deserved respect. Warrior, on this unleashed his fury, tweeting, “Yeah, and none with balls to turn (Vince
McMahon) invite down like I already did.”
Whether this is true or not, one must accept the fact that the Ultimate Warrior has always been known for his ring aggression. Keeping that in mind, it is no surprise to learn that Ultimate Warrior rejected Vince McMahon’s proposal.
Ultimate Warrior started joined the WWF (World Wrestling Federation), which is now World Wrestling Entertainment, in 1987 and performed until 1991. He reappeared in 1992 and remained a part of WWF until 1996. He then went to WCW (World Championship Wrestling)
in 1998. He grabbed the WWF Championship belt from Hulk Hogan in WrestleMania 6 in the main event.
The former champion retired completely from wrestling in 1999 to pursue a career in public speaking. The WWE remembers the Ultimate Warrior as ‘one of the most intense and physically impressive competitors to ever appear in the WWE and ‘the ultimate archetype
of strength and intensity.’
During the late 80s and early 90s, the Ultimate Warrior was being seen among the most important members of the WWF Universe.
However, his era did not flourish that well compared to the eras of the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan. The Ultimate Warrior still remains a legend for many wrestling fans, but his decision of not being included in the Hall of Fame list might
hurt his legacy.
