I know that UFC has the Ultimate Fighter and has two teams fight till there is a final. So I will pick my teams and you tell me which team will dominate in this fight?

Team 1 Team 2

1. Lennox Lewis vs Sonny Liston (Heavy)

2. Salvador Sanchez vs Jorge Linaris (126lbs.)

3. Marvin Hagler vs Carlos Monzon (160lbs.)

4. Poncho Villa vs Micheal Carbajal (108lbs.)

5. Evander Holyfield vs David Haye (Crusier)

6. Sugar Ray Robinson vs Sugar Ray Leonard (147lbs.)

7. Michael Spinks vs Roy Jones Jr. (175lbs.)

8. Roberto Duran vs Benny Leonard (135lbs.)

9. Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Sugar Shane Mosley (140lbs.)

10. Joe Louis vs Jack Dempsey (Heavy)

All fighters in their prime at that weight class?

  1. Well, we have "The Contender" which is similar, but in my eyes a million times better and more entertaining than "The Ultimate Ground-Humper" but as for your hypothetical matchups:

    1.  Lennox Lewis vs. Sonny Liston- I have to go with Lewis by late-round TKO.  Lewis had a great jab, and Liston had problems with guys who could fight at a distance and use their jab, ie. Muhammad Ali/Cassius Clay.  Liston liked to brawl which is why he had so many KOs, and it is the reason why many people consider him to be "the first Mike Tyson."  In my eyes Lewis was too big, too rangy, and too skilled with his jab for Liston.

    2.  Salvador Sanchez vs. Jorge Linares- Sanchez by mid-round KO.  If this question was asked a few years down the road, then the answer may be a lot different, but as of right now, Linares has not proved himself to be one of the all-time or even current greats that Sanchez was.  So far, the biggest name that Linares has beaten was a past his prime Oscar Larios, and Larios was better as a 122 pounder anyway, so he has proven himself to be one of the best featherweights today, but not all-time.  Sanchez even though his life was tragically cut short, is still regarded as an all-time great, which shows you how good he really was.

    3.  Marvin Hagler vs. Carlos Monzon- this is a tough one.  I would go with Hagler by a close decision.  These two were the "toughest of the tough" and neither would allow themselves to be stopped by the other, which is why I think that it would be a grueling, and drawn-out fight.  Hagler would use his southpaw stance to his advantage and show his underrated power against Monzon while Monzon would show his grit and fight back hard.  Its a toss-up match, but I say Hagler wins a close fight.

    4.  Pancho Villa vs. Micheal Carbajal- Carbajal was really entertaining in his prime, but Villa was a "bad man" in his prime.  When he fought the all-time great Jimmy Wilde, he put a beating on him so bad that he put Wilde in the hospital afterward and Wilde did not even recognize his own wife for a short while (he made a full recovery).  Villa was the original Manny Pacquiao; its too bad that his life and career were cut short while he was still in his prime because he didn't take care of his teeth.  I think that he would be too strong and determined for Carbajal- Villa wins by mid-round knockout.

    5.  Evander Holyfield vs. David Haye- I'll take Holyfield easily with this one.  Haye is a good fighter and even though he is the undisputed cruiserweight champ, he did not accomplish what Holyfield did at that weight.  Thats why Holyfield is considered by almost everybody to be the best cruiserweight of all time even though most of his career was spent at heavyweight.  Plus, Holyfield had a h**l of a chin and way too much heart to be stopped by Haye.  Haye on the other hand was stopped when he ran out of gas.  I say Holyfield wins by mid-round knockout.

    6.  Sugar Ray Robinson vs. Sugar Ray Leonard- Robinson easily.  The original "Sugar" is the best pound for pound fighter of all-time, while Leonard was only the best pound for pound of his era.  Leonard himself has stated that there is no comparison between him and Robinson because Robinson was the best.  Leonard would hold his own and go the distance but Robinson would win by a clear unanimous decision.

    7.  Michael Spinks vs. Roy Jones, Jr.- I have Jones as the number 2 best light heavyweight of all time behind Archie Moore.  When Roy was at his peak, I don't think anyone in history could have beaten him at that weight except Moore, because Roy was just so tremendously skilled.  Spinks was good, but he was in too many close and controversial fights at light heavyweight (and heavyweight) to be able to beat Roy.  Roy would be too fast for him and cruise to unanimous decision victory.

    8.  Roberto Duran vs. Benny Leonard- I'll have to go with Duran in a back and forth battle.  Leonard was great but I don't think that he defended his title consistently enough to have been able to hold off Duran.  Back when Leonard fought, the champs (such as himself) would fight many non-title bouts and only defended their titles for the big-name guys that would bring the most money.  Duran at lightweight in his prime defended his title against the best and he did it consistently.  I think that Duran would overpower Leonard with his aggressive style and beat him by a unanimous decision.

    9.  Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Shane Mosley- This is another tough one to call, especially at 140 pounds, since Mosley actually never fought at that weight- he skipped over it to fight Oscar De La Hoya.  Mosley could have been the greatest 140 pounder of all time if he went and stayed in that division, but he chose to go after the money and who blames him?  I still think that Floyd is just too good for him now and back when they were rumored to fight but it never developed.  It would be extremely competitive but Floyd would use his excellent defense to his advantage and beat Mosley by a close, and probably split decision.

    10.  Joe Louis vs. Jack Dempsey- I'll go with Louis on this one because he was the better skilled fighter.  Dempsey was great for what he accomplished for himself and for what he did for the sport, but the question has to be asked- what would have happened if he fought a lot of the great black fighters back in the day?  Sam Langford was old and half-blind and wanted a shot at Dempsey's title, but Dempsey's promoter said something to the effect of "we're looking for something a bit easier right now Sam."  Dempsey could swat like h**l, but so could Louis and Joe is arguably the best finisher in heavyweight history.  Add to the fact that he had great boxing skills while in his prime, and you have the perfect formula to beat a crude (but great) puncher like Dempsey.  I say Louis wins by late-round knockout.

Team one winners: Lewis, Sanchez, Hagler, Villa, Holyfield, Robinson, Duran, Mayweather, Jr. and Louis.

    Team two winners: Jones, Jr.

Team one dominates the tournament in my eyes.

  2. 1. A prime lennox lewis would defeat sonny liston, liston was slow and relied on intimidating his opponents to beat them, lennox lewis was more technical and would have easily figured liston out before the end of the third round, lewis would win by decision.

    2. This one is easy,Sanchez would win this fight, I think that Sanchez would have been an all time great had he lived to fulfill his great potential.

3.Marvin hagler would win this fight, Hagler would have beaten the c**p out of that wife beater and murderer i will never respect a man like monzon in this fight i would hope that hagler would kill him in the ring (although he is already dead) and besides Hagler in his prime was easily one of the greatest in his division

    4. I do not know this guys i never wathced that division much.

5.This would be an interesting match up although i think that a prime holyfield would win in this fight, haye is very exciting to watch and quite strong but holyfield is considered by many to be the greatest cuiser weight of all time, holyfield could hang in there even with the oughest heavy weights and i doubt that haye could really hurt him that much.

    6. Sugar Ray Robisnon would win this fight, it would be a great fight to watch both fighters had great chins and great skills however robisnon had a lot more power than leonard and his chin was practically made of still, this would sugar ray leonard's toughest bout ever and i doubt that he would be able to handle a complete boxer like robisnon, seriously if you watch robinson's fights on youtube you will wonder whether the man had any weaknesses at all!

7.In his prime Roy Jones Jr could handle anyone at that weight even michale spinks, pinks was fast and quick on his feet but Roy Jones was faster, and had super human hand speed, spinks would not have been able to handle all of that.

    8. This is a tough one.....I think roberto duran would win in this fight however it would be a very tough fight to call, it would probably be a bloody war between two very stubborn fighters, but on a good day roberto duran could handle anybody.

9.lol this would be a tough one to call as well, Mayweather jr is a technical genius whose defense and counter punching abilities have become almost legendary,a prime shane mosley is one of the fastest punchers ever in his weight class and packed quite a lot of power however Mayweather's record proves that it would take more than power or speed to break his defense, i would have to give it to mayweather jr.

9 Joe Louis would beat jack dempsey in this fight, joe was too big,too strong and had better technical skill than dempsey, although this would be one h**l of a fight and could go either way i think that Joe Louis's resilience and abilty to read into his opponents would help him to gain a victory over the feared manassa mauler.
