Just thought this would be cool to know. Is it possible for anyone to be immune to all diseases?

  1. It is not strictly speaking necessary to have been exposed to a disease to be immune to it. The example of the black death  is a good case. So many people were killed by this that those that survived had extremely good immune defenses. It is thought that a defect in your chromosones (which could be caused by radiation of one sort or another) can damage your ability to react to disease. The survivors came from the "deep end" of the gene pool and of course is passed on to the descendants who can fight off infections more easily. It is now thought that many medical problems are the result of damaged genes

  2. No it's not

  3. It's "possible," but I feel comfortable saying that it will probably never happen.  In the context of adaptive immunity, one needs to be exposed to some disease-causing agent before one can develop immunity to it.  So, one would need to be exposed to all diseases before they could develop immunity to them.  Unless, of course, humans eventually developed a super-duper bomb-proof innate immunity.

Again, "possible," but it isn't going to happen.

  4. its possible, but really, really rare to have all the genes that repell diseases, most of them. it will have to come after many, many generations probably

  5. impossible !

but you can have a very strong immune defense.

and you can't escape HIV !

  6.   No, it is not possible why because immune system mainly depends upon genetic factors, body conditions, food intake, personal habits, stress conditions, environmental conditions, occupation etc.All these are different for each person that's why it not possible.

If all above factors are same for each person,  ultimate immune system may be possible.

  7. there are a variety of human races...this variation is due to the difference in genetic make up and if genetic make up of different races(and no two people are even exactly similar in genetic make up..not even twins...) is different, then their tolerance to different diseases is also diffrent..some races are prone to sone diseases and some are immuned against those diseases...so it isnt possible at all that a human may have an immunity to every disease......a human with such a quality has to be a super human...........................

  8. The possibility is nonexistant.  There are so many types of diseases caused by so many different microorganisms for it to be possible.  On top of that those organisms are also evolving, mutating, recombing to form new ways to infect and/or kill.

  9. No. You might be able to get vaccinated for a lot of things, but there will always be new diseases. Bacteria and viruses evolve too!
