Ultra Suzi Star and Shooting Star joint favourites for the William Hill Supporting Racing Post TV Stakes
Ultra Suzi Star and Shooting Star will battle for victory in the William Hill Supporting Racing Post TV Stakes at Newcastle in England on Saturday, March 3, 2012. The Grade A2 event has a winning cash prize of £112.
The runners confirmed for the 480 metres flat race, scheduled to start at 16:14 GMT, are: Ultra Suzi Star, Shooting Star, Lil Ranger, Gragane Girl, Knoppogue Pearl and Roker Titan.
Out of the top two favourites, Shooting Star has the best chances of winning today. He seems to enjoy running at this venue and has been delivering strong results over the past few months.
J. Wright’s trained hound had the best odds for his last race at Newcastle, but he managed to finish second. He did not get off to a good start, getting crowded, which cost him some important time.
Despite that, the bookmakers have shown faith in Shooting Star, who is the son of Ballymac Maeve out of Wordsandatune. He was born in March 2010 and is the youngest entry for the Newcastle event today.
On the other hand, Ultra Suzi Star is also considered to be a solid contender for victory today. She needs to be at her very best to win though, as her recent outings have been a touch inconsistent.
Last time when P. Rutherford’s trained b***h raced at Newcastle, she was finished fourth. She was up against some quality runners, thus failed to make it into the top three. The punters will be a touch hesitant over placing bets on her due to her recent
slump in form.
Ultra Suzi Star is the daughter of Daves Mentor out of Swift Silver and she was born in November 2009.
Another greyhound expected to do well in this class is Lil Ranger, trained by J. Fenwick. He is in good form at the moment and might spring up a surprise today. The bettors will be interested in investing some money on his victory, but he will need a clear
run in order to finish on top.
The black dog is the son of Droopys Kewell out of Cos Im Cute and was born in January 2009.
The remaining three runners: Gragane Girl, Knoppogue Pearl and Roker Titan might not find things easy, as they will be up against some quality runners. However, they do have the potential to cause an upset, if things go well for them.
