Ultra Suzi Star takes away the Williamhill.com Stakes on 21st December at Newcastle 
The Grade A1 Williamhill.com Stakes was held at Newcastle on 21st December. The race was run over a distance of 480 metres and offered a prize money of £118. The race had two entries from P Rutherford and J Wright, while the rest of the lineup
comprised of a single entry from D Calvert and J Fenwick.
P Rutherford’s Ultra Suzi Star, and D Calvert trained Diamonte Sparkle, were the joint 3 to 1 favourites for the race.
The Grade A1 Stakes began with Ultra Suzi Star breaking from the first stall after which she did not cease till rushing through the wire.
The daughter of Daves Mentor, out of Swift Silver, made it to the wire in 29.32 seconds, and left the runner up behind by a clear distance of five lengths.
D Calvert trained Diamonte Sparkle broke from her stall and ran through the track without being obstructed at all, leading her to complete the race in 29.73 seconds.
Both the joint favourites finished one after the other, and ranked according to their stall positions.
P Rutherford’s other entry into the race was the one and a half years old, Canny Carlin, who was behind by just half a length, and raced the track distance in 29.77 seconds.
J Wright had one of his hounds, Graigues Charmer, finishing in 29.90 seconds, and managing the fourth position, while the other hound, Ballymac Nap, making it to the other side of the wire, right in the end, taking 30.12 seconds.
None of J Wright’s entries managed a placed finish, while J Fenwick’s trainee, Droopys Alastair, finished the race between the two entrants. Droopys Alastair made it through the wire in 30.05 seconds.
Ultra Suzi Star has achieved a victory at Newcastle in the Williamhill.com Stakes after losing two races in a row.
First she lost on 10th December against Was Not Ricky, and then in the next race on 15th December, she was at a disadvantage in comparison to Must Be Ruby.
The races that she has participated in extend from Grade A1 to A5 to HP races, which she has raced throughout at Newcastle. She has raced as a favourite ten times ever since March 2011.
The four times that she has raced during December have all been victories.
