Hello, today I make 8 weeks pregnant and had my first ultrasound and they have done both procedures. It showed only a sac and showed 6weeks knowing that i made the right justures for LMP date July 8, I track them all. I am scared something is wrong now. It is weird because i have had all the symptoms and still feel that way. I also had a miscarriage last year and just dont understand it this time. Can a Sac grow with no baby inside? What is going on. I was told that I should contact my DR and I actually have a appt on the 8th. I dont get it I was more acceptive this time too and why is this happeneing to me. I am 28 yrs old. I want to know who have experienced this and what do I do what else is to come. They told me if I start having pain go to the emergancy room and if not I might have a blood test done to test the HGC levels in me. I still feel nausous and all too and nothing seemed to be abnormal cuz I check everyday. What is wrong and Y is this happening. I am so hurt by this and want kids.

  1. The first thing you should do is relax! Stress is not good if you want a successful pregnancy. Ask the doctor any concerns you have? On a hopeful note maybe it was so early in your pregnancy and they couldn't get a good shot. My first ultra sound looks like just a sac to but we could still see the little flutter of a heart beat. I hope things are fine and I would just bring up the ultrasound at this appointment you have. If you feel anything is wrong before then call and see if you can get in sooner!

  2. In Dec 2007 I went for a routine scan and I thought I was 10wks but the scan only showed the pregnancy sac and it measured around 7wks! I was totally devasted!  I went for a rescan the following week and it was confirmed that I had a ''Blighted Ovum''! This is were the baby fails to develop due to unforeseen reasons!

I really hope that this is not the case for you!  I will keep my fingers crossed!  But you really need to get in touch with your Doctor, They need to explain to you what is going on!

    Best of Luck! xx

  3. First calm down..it may just be too early to see a baby yet. I am 10 weeks pregnant and this happened to me. I knew when my LMP was bc I too keep track. So according to it I should have been almost 7 weeks along. I had some spotting and cramps so they did an ultra sound. Even with the vaginal US they saw only a sac only measuring at 5 wks and 3 days and no baby or heartbeat. They told me to come back in a week and there should be something then. Well again nothing. And the sac had not developed. They told me they thought it was a blighted ovum (which is where there is a sac but no fetal development) and to expect a miscarriage. I was devestated! They told me to come back in one more week to make sure there was no development. But that there probly wouldn't be. So I went home having anxiety attacks, not eating, not sleeping..etc. Well when I came back in that next week and they did the tummy US I could see a tiny movement. The tech said it could be my heartbeat we were seeing, so they wanted to do the vaginal US again to see for sure. Well there on the screen was our baby and it's heartbeat! The baby measured at 6 weeks and 4 days. Now according to my LMP I should have been going on 9 weeks. So my OB told me that I must have just ovulated and got pregnant late in my cycle and just wasn't as far along as we had thought is all. Everything is going good now. I even saw my baby moving with my latest ultra sound last week.  So hang in there. There is still hope. Give it another week or 2 and if the still see nothing with a abdominal ultra sound, have a vaginal ultra sound (they see much better) and see what it says.  Try not to worry until you know something for sure. I know from experience that is easier said than done. Best wishes!!!

  4. I went in at 5w and 4d and I only had a sac. I was terrified because i wanted to be pregnant so bad! I went in a week later and there was the baby with a heartbeat! You might have ovulated a few days to a few weeks later so you could be too early to see anything!
