Well if what little I've read is true (it is pre-pay as you go) and Being a parent myself; it would take very little to convince me!  

Geez, I mean in this day and age; kids NEED a way to communicate with (ya, like it or not) their PARENTS - say if you get into some trouble and need bailing out - or if for some reason you can't GO to your parents, at least you can call SOMEONE for help.

I would much rather feel left out of the loop and have my kid phone SOMEONE for help rather than NO ONE.  Even phoning 911 - there are SO many reasons why a teenager/even a small child really  should have one.

So...get a part-time job if you don't have one and pay for your own minutes, or make some sort of deal with them - - if I were your parent I would buy you the phone and  like 1/2 hour of minutes *just for emergency usage* or whatever - like that.

That way - YOU get to be responsible for your behavior (or get away from so perv)  - as in, if you go to a party and then you want OUT only they won't L:ET you out--that type of thing.  Or you get stranded - left somewhere by some jerk...there are SO many reasons.

Sounds to me like this kind of phone is the perfect answer!  No contracts! No bills! No activation OR cancellation fees.  Geez, let your parent read my post!  LOL - sounds like the perfect deal!

I'm all over this - thanks for making me aware of them!  I hope they work in my area.
