I don't write poetry at all but I just jotted this down out of boredom and wanted to see what you guys thought. Again, I am not a poet....so be nice please lol.

Your glances burn forever

Your words caused depair

My heart is severed

My feelings unaware

i think this has real emotion in it, and has potential. right now, it seems, like you said, more of a jotted down thought than a poem...maybe if you expand it...

but i do like it. =)
