  1. Maybe you are thinking of magnets which have a + side and a - side. If you put the two + sides or the two - sides together, they will repel each other.  If you put a + and a - side together, they will attract.

You can use certain types of metal to substitute for one of the magnets. Magnets are attacted to certain types of metal.

  2. You're talking about static electricity.

You can take a large glass jar, make a wooden top for it, and drive two hooks through the wood top, so that the hook is on the underside, and the point of the hook protrudes through the top.  Then, hang two lightweight pieces of metal, like foil, from the hooks.  After that, generate some static electricity, from a Van de Graaf generator or something (maybe rub a baloon on your head) and touch it to the hook points on the lid.  The static electricity will flow through the hooks and into the foil metal, and the metal (being similarly charged) will repel each other.  You can even measure the amount of static by how far the pieces of foil separate.  You should put the hooks close together, so the foil pieces are close but not touching.

  3. Magnets????
