  1. if you don't wanna practice for hours, just keep playing

you improve by playing volleyball itself, since the more field experiece you have, the better you are

and practicing on a wall may not improve your game skill, since bumping off walls returns you with a stable ball, and you rarely get those in games. but still, if there are no games, it's better than nothing.

and play with friends too, competition will help push yourself to do your best

  2. cool another volleyball player you know not alot of people are interested in this sport but it is one of the greatest...

there are two ways i know of serving

1.) throw the ball into the air and swing your arm under the ball and hit it with your fore- -arm or wrist  forcing it to go upward and over the net

2.) another way is to the throw the into the air and punch the ball with the front of your fist forcing the ball outward and over the net

dont worry it takes alot of practice the main thing is you want to find a serve that suits you when i started to play volleyball i found the first  one easier because it took less force but once i got more into the season i found i was better at the second one

the best way to get better is to practice while you are waiting for you season to begin try bumping the ball to yourself how many times you can keep it in the air..

another thing you can do is bump the ball against a walll to practice hit balls coming at different angles...

if you had other people to play with you can try making a bump circle and count how many times it stays up before hitting the ground

also (  this one is a little unorthidoxed but i coach did this to help us hit hard spike and fast serves back over the net )

have a person pegg the ball down at your knees so you have to slide down to save th ball from hitting the ground...

well i hope this helps happy playing

dont worry it takes a lot of practice to

  3. volleyball is a very good sport. good choice.

um all u can do is practice thats the only advice someone can give you. just try hard and practice everyday

i hope you get better :D

none of these are me but they will help!!

  5. that's cool that u want to play volleyball!! And even better you know how to serve because they score the points. practice is the only advice when you serve, trust me. you have to get used to the feeling.  You also need to learn how to bump and set.  Try setting a ball on the same spot on the wall it will help you with softness of your finger tips and aim.  Bumping is really easy hit the ball on your forearm  Aim and bring them up once the ball reaches you.  Never think the ball is just going to come to you.  Move to it.

  6. ask anyone at your school or go online and they tell you everything you need to know about volleyball

  7. I'm glad that you want to play volleyball. :)

I play volleyball and I was the captain of my team for a year. Even though I'm not the best volleyball player, and sometimes I still drive it into the net, I'm sure I can help you.

Well, the first thing you can start off doing is going by a wall, outside perferably, and start bumping it on the wall. Try to keep it under control. I'm guessing you know how to bump, you make a fist with your left hand and put the right hand on your left hand so that your thumbs touch but don't overlap. This will give you a square platform. But, remember to stay down, because if you pop up to much the ball will go flying all over the place.

For setting, again, I'm sure you know how to do it. Make a triangle with your index fingers and your thumb and practice doing that on the wall also.

Spiking is a little harder. Your goal is for when you hit it over the net (in a game or practice) that it goes sailing and drops down. You pretty much wanna have someone toss it up to you and you step back, curve out, draw your hands back, step with your left foot, then right, then both, and hit the ball.

You could also go to a camp or get someone to help you with these if I didn't explain it good enough.

Good luck with volleyball, I hope I helped you! :D

  8. ohhh god everyone is going with long answers im just going to say play club and practice whenever you can

  9. Well first of all you're serves will keep progressing every time you do it. To set put your fingers above your head as if you were about to take a drink out of a BIG water bottle, then push up with the balls of your fingers, you must have your knees bent and your back straight to have a better set though. To hit you should go back towards the ten foot line and take a big right foot step and a big left foot step and bring your right foot up to the left and jump to hit the ball, those steps would be your approach. To block you would already be at the net ready to block but watch for the other person's approach and focus your hands where their shoulders are pointed and when they jump up you jump to and WHAM you block it. To pass you should always be low with your knees bent and your back straight, then hold your hands out strait and firm without bending your arms just let the ball hit you and go up with your knees, and you want to face the person you are passing to and make sure you're squared up to that person. I hope this helps you a ton!

  10. I think that it is great that you want to play volleyball.

I loved it ever since i went to open gym in 6th grade.

I do this all the time.

    And you can too.

You can do this with any type of ball .

Maybe a like playground ball or if you have a volleyball then great.

What you do is go outside fine a wall and bump it which if where you have your right hand in a fist and your left hand goes around yuor right where your thumbs are side by side but not overlaping. So go to a wall squat down and then bump it to the wall. If you dont have a wall them just bump to yourself,or have a friend help you or bump as well. Then you set the ball. That is where you make a triangle with your thumbs so that it is like making a L for the loser sign.but you curve your index fingers in to make it look like a triangle but remember only  from your forehead up and to not let your elbows go out to kind of keep them in but not all the way. You can do that to a wall or have a friend or parent or someone help you. Spiking is the next thing. This one you really need someone to toss you the ball or someone to set you the ball.

You need to be at least 3-4 feet away from the person tossing or setting it. Depending on if you are left or right handed. If you are right handed you take your steps which would be right foot then left then right together, or left it would be left, right left together then jump. After you get that it is your arms that help you get height. You start out with your hands up and then from there you go whenever you take your first step you do nothing or you could use that to bring your hands to the front, but then after that on the second step you bring your hands back then on the last step you bring them forward and jump very quickly, but then when you jump to hit the ball you make a circle towards u to get more strength in your spike. and whichever hand you did no use you bring it back. Remember this has to be very quick. I hoped I helped you.

But if this wasn't very useful or even if it was useful maybe trying a camp or at your local gym if they have volleyball asking them for tips or joining .

  11. just consintrate. before i serve i always take  a deep breathe. when your hitting the ball just think of something that gets u relly mad and just pretend its the ball and put all your power and madness into it.

  12. It's a good thing that you want to play volleyball.  Sometimes if you aren't that good, your team will hate you.  So you are brave.  Here are some tips:

-When you serve, make sure you don't only take one step.  Make sure you have at least two.  This will bring power to your serve.

-When serving, watch the line.  You don't want to get a foot fowl.

-Whatever offence/serve recieve you do, make sure you know it.  Ask the coach if you don't.

-If you have a libero and you are in the back with him/her, make sure you try to cover him/her sometimes.  Usually the libero is short and can't do anything else, so be careful.

-In the back row, make sure you discuss with the other people who is going to take deep and who will take short.

-For second hit, (this is mostly for setters) make sure you call HELP! early enough so somebody else can get the ball.

-If a setter gets the ball on the second hit, (mostly for setters) make sure that you call SETTER'S OUT! early enough so somebody else knows to take the ball.

-If a ball is bumped over, yell FREE!

-When you bump, make sure you have a platform that is strait.  That means, make sure your arms are strait. If they aren't strait, the ball will bounce off the arm that is higher and will go that way.

-When bumping, don't swing your arms.

-Make sure second hit goes to the setter.

-When you spike, make sure you have an approach.

-When you spike, make sure that both of your arms go up when you jump to hit.

-When you block, make sure that your hands stay together.  If you pull them apart, the ball will go right through them.

-When you set, make sure that you get the ball to the zone where the boy/girl likes the ball.

-For tipping, make sure you don't touch the net.

That is all I got.  Just to tell you, volley ball is one word.

VOLLEYBALL ROCKS AND U KNOW IT!!!

  13. good choice! though i play volleyball in a league, i still don't know how to make strong services. however i have a basic service (like the badminton way) . it is not strong but it is very accurate. you can try to practice this technique.

besides, one cannot be good at everything. you can choose a specialty (setter, defense, attack...) and work it hard.

  14. I practiced a lot by just hitting the ball against a wall. Also bumping to youself and setting to yourself. If you know anyone else whos gonna join or just anyone else who likes to play ask them to practice with you. Practice serving against the wall. And if you know the approach practice that and see how high up you can get like at a doorpost or something.

    Good luck!

  15. For serving, go to an open space and find a wall. Then aim high on the wall and take 1 step back if you liked the serve you just did.

This is what I did when I couldn't serve and after I used the wall, I went to the next level and finally used the net. I didn't make it over a couple of times then I just aimed for the ceiling and shifted my weight forward and made it.

    You should try this!!

  16. when u serve  make sure u get agood high toss and try your best and also make sure u call the ball so u dont run into each other.
