Umar Akmal takes inspiration from fellow Imran Farhat; Decides to sue Mazhar Majeed
The young Pakistani sensation ,Umar Akmal ,who was among the four players involved in spot-fixing named by Mazhar Majeed in a recent video, is considering taking Majeed to court for his unfounded allegations. Majeed is the same bookie who was also involved in another spot-fixing scandal in England, this year. Akmal has reacted strongly to the revelation made by Majeed and said,
"I am consulting my lawyers because I don't even know this fellow. He is neither my agent."
Akmal has chosen to take action against the bookie, after fellow batsman Imran Farhat, who was also named by Mazhar in the same video, decided to take legal action against the accuser .Umar Akmal, however, said that he would seek permission from the Pakistan Cricket Board, before taking any legal action because he is under PCB’s contract. Akmal has been under tremendous stress ever since the video became public, the youngster said,
"I have just started my international career and playing for Pakistan has been a big honor for me. I can't even think of being involved in such practices. I don't know why he has taken my name, he is a liar. I am not going to let anyone say anything about me or my teammates.”
