Umar Gul has not done justice to his talent yet, feels Michael Holding – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, is disappointed with the progress Pakistan’s fast bowler, Umar Gul has made so far in international cricket and feels that the fast bowler has not done justice to his talent yet.
Umar Gul burst into the scene of international cricket in 2003 and since then he has been a permanent member of the national team. Although, he has never been dropped because of performance but he has missed a lot of cricket because of fitness issues.
The fast bowler from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peshawar-c832 came through the ranks of junior cricket in the country and represented Pakistan Under-19s in the junior world cup in 2002. Many cricket analysts around the world tipped him to become a world-class bowler. Gul did well for Pakistan
on numerous occasions but some legendary cricketers, including Holding, are of the opinion that Gul has the ability to be an even better bowler.
While speaking to Pakpassion, Holding said that Gul should have been the leader of Pakistani bowling till date but he has not improved that much yet.
"I have pretty much liked http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Gul-c94604 throughout the years. Yes, I would have to say that perhaps he hasn’t really carried the bulk of the attack as much as I would have liked. I would have had him in the middle leading the attack and really liked for him to
be the front role bowler."
Gul did a good job in the recently concluded series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, the fast bowler will have to be at his best.
Even though Umar has been a little consistent throughout his career, Holding is still impressed by him because Umar does give his best whenever he goes out there to bowl. In Holding’s opinion, effort is the most important thing for a fast bowler.
“I think he goes out there and tries his very best every time. He gives one hundred percent every time, and that’s the first thing that I am looking for as far as seam bowlers are concerned”, he added.
