Umberto Calabro eliminated in 16th place on Day 3 – WPT Venice 2011
Only 15 out of 213 contestants have made it to the final night of the WPT (World Poker Tour) Venice after four days of enthralling high-stake play. Being played at the Casino Di Venezia, in Venice, the tournament has only one member
of the elite WPT Champions Club in the remaining 15 players, Roberto Romanello, holding the 12 position in the standings.
At the end of Day 3 of the event, one of the most dedicated professional poker players, Marvin Rettenmaier of Germany, holds the top position on the leaders’ board, with a huge pile of 817,000 chips in his pocket. The Top-10 on
the leaders’ board at the end of Day3 are as follows:

1.       Marvin Rettenmaier      817,000 2.       Michele Caroli                 793,000
3.       Alex Dovzhenko             730,000
4.       Arnaud Mattern              519,000
5.       Andrea Benelli                516,000
6.       Christopher Creus         495,000 7.       Alejandro Sanchez        495,000 8.       Edoardo Alescio             431,000

Umberto Calabro busted at the hands of Christopher Creus
Umberto Calabro was playing very aggressive game and went all-in for a third consecutive time on the table but he wasn’t luckier enough this time round. He threw last of his 25,000 chips in the pot, followed by Creus’ call to have
a showdown.
Creus      : ace of diamonds, jack of hearts

Calabro  : king of spades, six of hearts
With a jack of diamonds, eight of clubs and two of diamonds, Creus became the favourite for winning the hand with a pair. A queen of clubs on the turn and ace of hearts on the river made the win even more emphatic for Creus, whose
two-pair prevailed over Calabro’s lone cards. Creus finished on the sixth spot by the end of Day 3, while Calabro suffered a 16th place elimination to end his voyage at the WPT Venice.
Massimiliano Rosa was also eliminated earlier on the 17th spot, becoming a victim of the eventual leader of the chip count, Rettenmaier. Rosa’s ace and six of hearts were blown away by Rettenmaier’s kamikaze, king of
diamonds and king of hearts, eliminating him from the tournament in style.
Rettenmaier - 820,000

Rosa               - eliminated
