Indian pace bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umesh-Yadav-c94625 is all set to make his return after an injury, to play in the Deodhar Trophy inter-zonal One-Day tournament, starting on Friday March 16, 2012,
The 24-year-old speedster was dropped from the Asia Cup squad due to a shin injury which he sustained on tour of Australia. The pacer, however, has fully recovered now and is eager to start fresh after a grueling time Down Under.
“I'm back to full fitness. I'm not concentrating on anything other than achieving my goals, like working on my bowling and maintaining my fitness,” said the pacer.
Yadav, under the leadership of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Piyush-c82317 Chawala, will play from Central Zone in the opening game of the tournament against South Zone. The right-arm-bowler aims to play with a different approach this time where, apart from bowling quick, he will also aim to
pick regular breakthroughs.
“You get more bounce and pace on the wickets abroad while in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, I can only name a few places like Bangalore and Mohali which are a bit pace-friendly. But as a bowler, all you have to look for is the correct line and length,” said Yadav.
The youngster also expressed satisfaction over the outcome in his time in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, where he learned a lot while bowling on bouncy tracks despite taking just 5 wickets from 6 CB series matches.
“Even though the tour (Australia) did not pan out as per our expectations, the experience of bowling in different conditions will help me grow as a bowler," said a fully-fit Yadav.
Commenting on the well publicised rotational policy, the right-arm pacer opined that the strategy could also serve well for the bowling department, which in turn will keep the bowlers fit and free from injury.
The inter-zonal tournament features some of the best Indian domestic players where five teams will battle out, starting with a one-off quarterfinal between Central Zone and South Zone.
The winner of this match will then face North Zone, who have already qualified for the semi-final. The event provides a bright chance for talented players to leave a strong impact on the national selectors.
