Umm, what's the difference between engineering and math

Question

I'm not sure which 1 2 study. Could any1 tell me d difference between an engineer and a mathematician?

Engineers use math and scientific principles to produce practical applications.  Mathematicians may also, but may spend more time in theory.  As an engineer, all I can say is I want to get the math as simple as I can.  A mathematician may want it as complex as it can to get the best "resolution" on a process.

a mathematician uses math to gain see a result, the math used is very complex and delves into a lot of theory.

and engineer uses math to gain and understanding of how something works and develop a new and better way of doing things. Once practicing engineers use a lot more of knowing whats going on and how one thing will affect another and less of the specific numbers involved. Much of an engineers math will be solved on a computer simulation program.

An engineer may only study specifically one area of math that pertains to his profession, whereby a mathematician covers all areas and fazes of math which in turns affords him the ability to go in a wider spectrum

A mathematician and a engineer went to their first dance.  They were both too shy to ask a girl to dance.  The mathematician was going to go halfway over there, and think about it, and then go halfway again if he was brave enough.  But he decided he would never get there.

The engineer heard about this and walked halfway, and halfway again, and eventually got pretty close to a pretty girl and said hello.

That is the difference.
