Umm..Bare Minerals??

Question

I want to start using Bare Minerals. My friends use it so I want to try it too. I don't have acne or dark spots. So should I get the foundation? I've never used foundation before, so what does it do? What does the Bisque do? Should I try the Mineral Veil? If theres anything else at bare minerals that is good. Tell me please!

I would skip on the Bare MInerals if I where you. I am a professional makeup artist and skin care specialist, I have used many different mediums of makeup and mineral makeup. I had a lot of problems with bare minerals.

1) They say they are natural and have NO preservatives and they basically lie, as they DO have chemical parabean preservatives in their mineral veil and other formulas (links to cancer)

2)They use a CHEAP mineral called Bismuth oxychloride, this mineral is well known to cause skin irritation, rash, itching and in some cases acne (google bare escentuals bismuth oxychloride itch and you will find pages of people who have irritation from it) it may not have affected your friend but theres a good chance it can to you

3)It wears off fairly quickly, needing to reapply several times in the day

4)it looks very shiny/greasy by noon (especially in photos)

5) It is expensive for no reason, since they use pretty cheap ingredients

6) They use cheap fillers (Cornstarch) more itching and irritation

I personally use on myself and my clientele a far more prestigious and affordable brand than Bare Escentuals, it is called Faerie Organic Minerals.

1) They are natural, No preservatives, No Bismuth Oxychloride, No cheap fillers (cornstarch, talc etc)

2)They use a HIGH END expensive mineral called Boron Nitride (this is used in the highest end brands of mineral makeup, like Jane Iredale) Boron Nitride is the main ingredient that sets them apart from the rest and makes them far better than "BE". Boron Nitride is antibacterial (keep you from breaking out) it is a skin soother and perfector, conceals fine lines and gives you flawless, glowy skin

3) They last all day even in hot weather (thanks to the Boron Nitride)

4) Their mineral veil is optional as their products are not greasy and shiny, so the only time you would need it is for mattifying your face for photos etc (matte faces photograph better)

5)They use much more expensive ingredients, yet are cheaper than "BE"

6) They have the best concealer I have ever used

With all that said, I have personally got soo many people to switch from using "BE" and many other mineral makeup brands, because once they try faerie organic's they notice the difference in quality. Read the reviews on their site, many people have used all other brands and switched. I personally have. you dont have to have acne to wear it, i use it and it leaves your skin feeling soft and looking flawless! its great i love it. if you're going to start using it you should buy the starter kit it comes with a little of everyting that you're going to use ane it even comes with a skin rev-er upper to prep your skin, but! it does'nt come with well rested.

well rested works wonders it brightens and highlights and makes you look "well rested" literally...its great you should try it.

i use it and i love it. i dont have acne or dark spots either, but it tones out my skin nicely, and it isnt thick or nasty looking like a liquid makeup. i just use a tiny bit of the foundation and brush it all around my face then you just put some of the mineral veil on which just helps it stay on longer. it is very good for your skin compared to many other foundations. i love it
