Well, my cousin who is 12 years old, absolutely L-O-V-E-S her hamster. She just got it, and it's her first pet. Now,. my cousin (Jessica) was putting nail polish on,then she saw that her hamster was awake so she held her in her hands, but the nail polish wasn't dry. So her hamsters paw touched the nail polish. I know it's very dangerous but it happened 2 days ago and nothing bad happened to her, does it take longer for her to get poisoned?

  1. it may not be poisoned but if her hamster does seem to get unwell ring the vet and take it down there immediantly hope it is ok and hope this helps

  2. Don't you know you are supposed to feed hamsters nail polish?!

  3. She might look pretty with nail polish. lol just kidding

  4. It is only the hamster's paw that touched the nail polish. Only a little bit would have touched the hamster paw and I don't think she could have ingested much since even if she licks the paw, the nail polish would have dried in few seconds and would not get licked by her. I am sure she would not get poisoned by it.

If you see the mark on her paw still, you can dab it off with a dot of nail polish remover and very quickly dab the area clean with cotton soaked in clean water. Make sure that the paw is made completely dry after cleaning with water.

  5. maybe you guys shhould take the nail polish off then was with water so if it likes its little paws to clean

  6. you better rub that paw off well with plain water, and take her to the vet. he probably ate it when he was grooming!!!

  7. She should be fine. It can only be a small amount that she ingested if she ingested any at all. Good on you for having concern though, and for learning about what is good and what is harmful for the hamster.
