Every now and then my four year old dog, a border collie cross, stares at certain spots in my house. she will stare intently, sometimes even growl at these places. the freaky part? the places she stares at are the places where my 13 year old dog, who was put to sleep away five years ago, used to occupy. Is there some how a presence there? Or do i actually have the presence, or ghost, of my old dog in the house?

  1. If your house was occupied by a ghost, you would know!

Perhaps your dog is visiting or a family member.

When my son was younger we were camping out in the spare room and all of a sudden, right before bed, he starting waving at the wall.

Babies, kids and animals are sensitive to those types of things.

  2. Would it be that bad if your old dog's ghost is in your house?  No.  I wouldn't worry about it.

  3. It has been said that animals can sense things that we can't. After my sister died, her husband said her cat would all of a sudden get up, start purring and walking around a certain area. Who knows?

  4. Maybe the dog is just picking up the scent of your older dog!  Ghost well I guess anything is possible!

    Cheers!

  5. Other than the mystical answer, some things to consider...

Your old dog's scent is there in those places, and yet your Border Collie hasn't met the dog - he could be just annoyed that the other dog is 'in' his spot, and he can't erase the scent...

I had a dog that would do that staring at the wall thing, and then I  heard it for myself later on - there were mice in the wall...

and the last, less likely scenario - mild seizures.

  6. thats pretty cool, animals have a way of sensing them things, i would say its your dog, still with you.

  7. yeah this is kind of weird. maybe you could hire a ghost hunter?

  8. My friends dog used to do that and they thought their was some kind of spirit...

  9. oh i would be freaked out too. maybe theres a trace scent of the dog that ur dog dont like and its teretorial.

  10. You might want to have your house inspected for termites and have the wiring checked.  Dog's have acute hearing and she may hear something in the walls. If everything checks out Ok then I would have a priest come in and cleanse your house so that if the spirit of your old dog is around you can help him or her move on. Good Luck!

  11. Dogs have better senses than us so maybe he/she hearing someone you don't.

  12. People say dogs can see ghosts.....

  13. Could be:

    1. Something your dog heard but you didn't. I heard about a cat who kept staring at a spot and they thought they had a ghost... until the bee hive made it through the wall. Then they all knew what the cat was hearing!

    2. A ghost of your dog

    3. Some sort of lingering presence of your dog. Maybe not a spirit persay, but some of these people who study this stuff think that places may have a 'memory' and that accounts for at least some so-called ghosts

    4. Perhaps a lingering scent?

    5. Your dog could be sick. Not likely, but in very rare cases it's something like a brain tumor. But seriously, it's not at all likely.

    6. Your dog is just weird.

  14. It's possible the older dogs energies are still around and he's sensing it.  Who knows if there are spirits that still exist once an animal or human dies?  Anything is possible.

  15. Ghosts aren't real.  Take your dog for a walk if it's bored.

  16. Aw, I wish I had this issue.  I miss my older dog (who was quite connected to my current dog) every day and to have some kind of concrete possibility that he was still around would be really cool....or it could mice :)
