Umm is there a editor out there??

umm i want a good photo editing program i have picassa but i am not crazy about it. i want a free editing program. any suggestions??

These are a few popular ones that I know about: gimp, Raw Therapee, DCRAW, UFRAW.

I use Raw Therapee, and have used gimp. can't comment on the other two. If you want to manipulate JPEG images, gimp is probably the right choice. If you want work with RAW files, then I would suggest Raw Therapee.

You did not mention what you want to do with the s/w. For all I know, Picasa may be more appropriate for your application than either of these two :-)

i dont know if your looking for one that's free but if you want a professional program you can get adobe photoshop which is what all the professionals use to edit their photos.

GIMP is probably your best bet if you want a free Adobe photoshop like program.

The Picasa editor sucks.

If you want good, you need to pay. You can get Photoshop Elements for under $100.

The Gimp is free and full featured, but the user interface is horrid and the processing is slow compared to Photoshop.

There are basic editors in Irfanview and Xnview. Both these programs are free and easy to use. They are also good thumbnail viewers and browsers. These programs are capable of resizing, cropping, and adjusting levels. Both these programs are suitable for non-serious home use.
