  1. The dad's side has nothing to do with it - but if you have twins on your side, you could possibly have twins.  That doesn't mean you will for sure, the chances are just a little higher than someone who doesn't have twins in the family

  2. Anything on your boyfriends side does not count as he cannot possibly make you realease more than one egg and only fraternal (two eggs, two sperm) have an increased chance based on genetics.

Your dads side does not count either - because he can't pass down the increased changes of releasing more eggs.

So your only increased risk is based on your Aunt who had twins - if they were identical twins then you have no increased risk because identical twinning is not an inherited trait.  If they are non identical from your Aunt then your Gran may have passed down to your mum and her sister (your aunt) the risk of releaseing more than one egg and you may have inherited the trait of releasing multiple eggs from your mum.  You risks would probably be increased.

However if it is not your blood aunt (aunt through Marriage) then you have no increased risk based on family history and that background risk is about 1 in 80.

You also have an increased risk the older you are and if you are built slightly larger (taller, heavier) than average.

    All the best.

  3. I just had set # 17 of twins in my family but here's the catch....every single other set is boy girl and I had 2 girls LOL so YES the chances are great but it also depends on Fraternal or Identical Males can only produce Identical Twins and Women can only produce Fraternal mine are Fraternal because I dropped 2 eggs : )

  4. they say the males side has nothing to do with having twins. if you have twins on your mothers side is the mother of the twin cousins related to your mom? if the mother of those twins if your moms sister, then yes your chances are higher but it still is not a high chance.. My grandma has had two sets and her sisters daughter had a set and i had a set..
