Umm...what's the dress code for dinner at a yacht club?

all i know about yacht clubs are that they are rich and fancy. i don't think i've ever even been near a yacht club. tonight we are gonna have dinner there and i have absolutely no idea how to dress!!! someone help!?

Call the Yacht Club and ASK what the dress code is for men and women. Now wasn't that easy.

Wear something a little dressier like a skirt and cute top with wedge sandals or

white pants and a striped top and metallic flats or

even a lightweight summer dress and sandals if it's during the daytime.

You can also opt for cocktail attire if it's at night.

Call the yacht club and ask.  They may tell you Sunday best, business casual, or something else.

It completely depends on the menu, event, time of day, and time of year.

Just wear a some nicer clothes. Nothing too dressy, something you'd wear to an interview, church or out on a nice date. Cute little summer dress, skirt and sweater or a nice pair of dress pants and blouse. The only rules for dress generally apply to no jeans, sneakers, etc and guys usually have to wear a coat, if that applies here (coat thing's a bit outdated but some clubs like it).

Depends upon what the club is doing.  Many times in the summer months they hold Regatta's...which is pretty casual (shorts, capri's, nice shirt, etc.).  If you received an invitation from the Commodore and/or Ambassador for dinner, then you will need a simple black cocktail dress.  If you are not quite sure what is happening, be on the safe side with dressy/casual....pants suit...etc.
