  1. I guess that depends on what you consider "close" :D ?  Madera county is smack dab in the middle of the state, while Laguna is at the southern end of Orange County, about 50 miles north of the Mexican border.  It's 300 miles from Laguna to the city of Madera.

Here's a map.  Madera is the purple county in the middle of the map, at  37' N,119' W (look at the coordinates around the edge of the map).  Orange county is the small purple county on the coast, one county up from the Mexican border, and Laguna is at the south end of OC.

Correction: Ok, I kind of fudged on the distance to the border.  It's actually 75 miles as the crow flies, and 85 miles driving.  I guess it seems closer because traffic goes 90mph on the stretch through Pendelton  :D

But I can't imagine how it takes RaceGal 70 miles to get from Laguna to North County.  It's 35 miles from Main Beach in Laguna to Oceanside (the north end of coastal SD county), and 70 miles to downtown San Diego.  Here's a map- http://tinyurl.com/5lad6f

  2. nope they are not close at all

a long distance is between then

the county around Launga are San Diego county to the south

Los Angeles county to the north and Riverside county to the east

  3. jeff, laguna beach is about 100 miles from mexico. i live in the north part of san diego county and i am 70 miles away

  4. Laguna Beach is in Orange County, So Cal, between LA and San Diego.  Madera County is a long way to the north of there.  Sorry I don't know exactly how far because I'm not from California.
