  1. this was my first year on the swim team and i LOVED it!!!!!! my time for a 50-meter free went from 50 seconds (ouch) to 37 seconds. i know its not the fastset time, but id saw a big improvemt when i just, well, practiced. our coach had us swim a 500 meter free one day. and so with all that practice you will improve. also try doing drills, like swimmming with your head above water without moveing your neck and stuff.

  2. i LOVE to swim and ive been swimming for 10 years.  ive heard that you dont really need to lift weights and its not important for swimming.  just make sure you are committed to practice...go every day and work your butt off.  make goals for each practice as well as seasonal goals to help you stay motivated.  good luck!!

  3. Weight training will make you stronger so that you will have better stamina and be able to swim faster.  And joining another team - club swimming - is one of the best ways to get better, because you swim all year.  The only way to get better is to keep working on it.

  4. This is my 3 year on a Swim Team. I am very competetive. I go to practice almost everyday. Anyways my best stroke is backstroke and i go 1:06.10. Anyways, to answer your question, dont do weight lifting. It really depends about your age. If your around 15 to 17 i guess you can do it, but i suggest not to. It doesn't matter how strong you are, it depends on the teqnique you have. Im not strong at all, but I am one of the best swimmers on the team. Joining another team dosn't make sense. You should just listen to your coach and go to practice everyday. Try to do all the sets your coach tells you to do. Try not to stop in between laps too. Well its your choice. Good Luck!!

    well you could practice swimming... for a start.. go to the pool a couple times a week and swim a bunch of laps.

    or try running, running helps increase your cardiovascular endurance.

  7. I LOVE swimming it's soo much fun.  You just need to keep on praticing thats what I did and I got a whole lot better.
