Its all theory, none of it is facts.  When we try to find what happened we analyze different possibilities.  When we arrive at a consensus we call it a theory. Then we search for evidence to support our theory.  If you look at the meerkats the possible reasons for our becoming upright seem to fit well.  The other theories also seem to fit.  But it will be a long time and maybe never before they are considered facts.
