I need a job really bad. I dont have any money and I cant drive any where, no car, and my mom and dad are having "money problems" and I want to help out.

I was thinking about starting thing to where I would "baby-sit and clean the/your house" but I dont know how to get started.

I was thinking about signs or flyers but I dont have the money to make them.

So if any one has any info on getting a job at home, online ( one that my mom and dad would say yes to) or the one I was talking about, then please help me out!!!

P.S Im 17 years old, so the job kinda needs to be "age wise"or whatever.

Thank you all! *hugs*

  1. Make lots of kids and apply for welfare.

  2. You could make the fliers one at a time , neatly with a pen or marker.  Post them on bulletin boards at grocery stores or convenient stores.  Put your phone number on the bottom of the page like 15 times, like you might have seen other people do, where you cut slits around your numbers like fringe so people can tear one off and leave the poster there.

  3. Find out where a friend with a car is working, and make a deal about paying gas from your 1st paycheck.  Get a job there.

Many fast food places are so hard up for help that they will help you find a ride.  My son gets rides more than I pick him up.  Teenagers love an excuse to drive around.

You should also check with your local Department of Labor.  You would be surprised how hard these people will work to get you working.  Their website is www.dol.gov

Ask a favorite teacher at school.  In our small town, fast food places keep the teachers informed hoping for better workers.

Your flyer idea is great. Heck go door to door with it. Old people especially need help, but are afraid to hire someone older than you because there are so many people out to scam the elderly.

I really admire you for wanting to help.  We had some problems that has thrown us into severe poverty.  My 17 year old son has been working part time for a year, and giving me every paycheck.  He has asked for very little from it.  He continues to make straight A's too.  I am beginning a business, and looking forward to paying him back.  It is humiliating to have to take his money.  Yet it fills me with pride that he is such a fine young man.

If your parents don't like the idea of accepting your money, tell them you will keep a record, and they can pay you back when you are in college or later.

Good luck, I'll say a prayer for your family and you!
