Hey im looking at this used 02 civic ex coup with 78k miles. The owner told me he change the front wheel tires. Does that mean something is wrong with the car? I 4got to ask him why, What other reason can it be if 2 tires in the front were change before the rear tires.

Thanks

  1. maybe he didnt have enough money to change both at the same time

  2. well tires do wear faster on front than back....is why you should rotate every time you change oil,,,, but how they was wore... uneven wear is a sign the front end is out of line.. could be nothing but then it could be a few hundred bucks depending on how bad it is.... what or how one check a car you walk a round look ing down the sides for dis color dents and uneven tire wear.... you check the tail pipe to see if its black... you look under the car on the ground and the bottom of the car for wet spots.... see any of these pass it on.... you get in and pop the hood you check all the fluids any low you pass it on..... you start it and listen hows it starts listen doe it tick or knock.... you check every button and switch... then you drive it 30 minutes checking how it takes off and how it brakes...how it steers... when you get back you recheck all the fluids and look under it again then decide if you see or have any of these signs pass it on

  3. The front tires on a FWD car wear out very fast (especially when not rotated).

I always put the new tires on the front and rotated them to the rear. Other drivers buy four at a time.

So there may not be anything wrong with the front end, only a wheel alignment would tell.

  4. the front tires wear much faster than the rear tires because that's where the power, weight and pressure are. Also, hondas have a very flimsy front end and get thrown out of alignment real easy which makes it worse.
