Unable to connect my laptop(hp dv5118) to my samsung lcd 32'(5 Series)?

Question

When i connect the tv to laptop using the pc input slot thats the same cable which is used to connect pc to monitor.

but the display on tv says format not supported..

interesting thing is when i restart my laptop the display(on tv) works till the system is up..till the windows welcome screen appears.. till that it displays everything then it suddenly goes blank.. then again FORMAT NOT SUPPORTED.. please help..

Try setting it to output to the TV only (nothing showing on the laptop screen). There are some issues with copyrighted material if you show it on both screens at the same time. If that doesn't work, try downloading the latest drivers for your video card from the HP website.

i use a lenovo laptop and connect it to my lcd(sony bravia)

my bravia supports a resolution of 1024x7**

and when ever i try changing my resolution to better...it says that video not supported

so change and lower the resolution before you connect the lappi
