Question:

Unable to connect to 192.168.0.1?

I'm posting from the same computer/router I'm having problems with. I'm able to get wired connection through the router (D-Link DI-524), but because of a slightly broken antenna, no wireless. I went to nintendo's website to see if I could get any help regardless of the broken antenna (borrowed the router from my friend, he uses wireless on it with the broken antenna). It said to connect to my router via 192.168.0.1 (that was the specific address for my router, and no, 192.168.1.1 didn't work either). Any ideas on why I can't connect to the router?

  1. this address is your router;s interface address and you can only go to this page if you are connected to the router, so if you are not able to connect wireless connection.... this address will not work either, u can open this page if you are connected via cable, but if you are still facing problem to open this page go the the Start menu.,.... type run press enter, in command mode, type ipconfig and press enter, the default gateway address is your router's interface address....

  2. Try turning off the router and turning it back on. 192.168.1.1 should work after a while

  3. Try going to your command line and doing a ipconfig. See what your default gateway is set to. Then go to your web browser and type that address in. There may be a possibility that you may only be able to connect through SSL on the router. So when you type in your DG address try using https://x*x.x*x.x.x instead of http://x*x.x*x.x.x

  4. Try 162.168.1.1 instead.

Open up a command prompt and enter the following

    ipconfig /all

  5. do this start/run/cmd/ipconfig/all. then check to see if your connection is active, but your best bet is to call dlink, there should be a tech support line either on the router, or on the box

  6. Wait, why did you go to Nintendo's website?

    Anyways...

Hmm, you can get a wired connection, but not wireless... and you have a BROKEN ANTENNA.  Regardless of what your friend was able to do, I would say that the antenna is the problem.

And why in the world do you need to know the IP address if you aren't even connected to the network yet?  Just click on the router name and connect to it.  Am I missing something here?

  7. had the same problem..

if u hav a vista computer. click network then ur router should show up. double click the router icon and it should tell u the new ip address.

vista changes it for some reason.
