Unable to download Sims 2 university Please help?

I bought sims 2 university for PC and tried to download but it said it was unable to copy the lot. I tried it again and it said unable to download dorm. Please help me I don't want to feel like i wasted my money for nothing.

are you sure you have any of the following before you tried installing this game : The Sims 2  Special DVD Edition or The Sims 2 Holiday Edition. Because this game requires these to play Sims 2 University. Best of luck.

University is an expansion pack, so you would need Sims2, Sims2 Holiday Edition, Sims2 Deluxe, or Sims2 Double Deluxe installed first before you tried to install University.  

If you do have the Sims2 base game already, do you have all the patches already applied?  Also, sometimes if you try to install an older expansion (and University is the oldest) when you have a newer expansion already installed, like Pets or Seasons, it won't work.  If this is the case, you may have to uninstall and then re-install your games in the order they were published.

Back-up your user files before you un-install anything!

My Documents / EA Games / Sims2

just copy that whole folder to new location like your desktop or a flash drive.
