Unable to download from camera

Question

This chameleon Mega 1.3 Megapixel came with this Dell computer which I purchased new in 2003. I have the driver which came with the camera too.
Until recently I could take pictures and download them. Now when I try a
message pops up " Device not ready" even though everything is plugged in like before. Yes the batteries are new and the camera is in new condition. It's not the camera. Please help me! Thank You, Mike
