I am the Administrator! I am the only one that uses my laptop. I was having trouble with Norton and I went to use their "live chat" option. A small program needs to be installed and I am unable to install it because I lack Administrator privileges. huh? Help!

  1. turn off your laptop

turn it back on and hit f5 while it boots up

    then go into safe mode

there you should be able to log in as administrator rather than your current screen name

    go into control panel

    user accounts

then change yourself to computer administrator

    hopefully this will work

btw when u go in safe mode norton should not start up so you can install what you need while in safe mode

  2. you may be log on as owner or user with limited access

go to your account in control panel user accouints

    and change your settings.

  3. Go to users accounts and and read under account that you are using  if it says administrator underneath the user's name. THEN you have the privileges to use the live chat option. IF NOT look for the one its says and try to login thru that account.IF there is a another account with administrator privileges then log in thru that account. Most likly the user name on that account is going to be ADMINISTRATOR. To acess this account you would need to change the way user log on or off.  If not back up your important files and reinstall windows.
